About Walmart Deli Prepared Foods
The Walmart Deli is one of the busiest prepared foods operations in American retail — producing thousands of rotisserie chickens, fried chicken meals, sandwiches, hot sides, and fresh-sliced deli meats every day at each Supercenter location. Deli Prepared Foods Associates work in a fast-paced, kitchen-like environment operating fryers, rotisserie ovens, slicers, and hot holding equipment while maintaining the strict food safety and sanitation standards that FDA and state health regulations demand. For individuals who enjoy food preparation but prefer retail hours over restaurant night shifts, the Walmart deli offers an ideal balance.
Position Overview
Walmart is hiring Deli Prepared Foods Associates to prepare, cook, and serve deli meals at Supercenter locations. You will operate commercial kitchen equipment producing rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, hot sides, and deli sandwiches while maintaining food safety temperatures, sanitation standards, and customer service quality at the deli counter throughout your shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook rotisserie chickens, fried chicken, hot wings, and side dishes using commercial fryers, ovens, and warmers.
- Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer specifications using commercial slicing equipment safely and accurately.

- Monitor and record food temperatures in hot holding cases, cold display units, and walk-in coolers per HACCP requirements.
- Maintain deli area cleanliness including equipment sanitization, counter wiping, floor cleaning, and handwashing compliance.
